Episode 097: Brownie Batter Honeybush

Zoomdweebie’s Brownie Batter Honeybush sounds like a chocolate lover’s dream! Naturally sweet honeybush is blended with cacao nibs, chocolate chips, chocolate flavoring, and even more chocolate.

I really enjoyed this tea! The brownie batter flavor is there as a subtle note, so don’t oversweeten this or you’ll drown it out. Brew it around 190 like you would an oolong, but drink it around 165 to 170 degrees to get the best flavor.

Episode 164: Chamomile Fruit

Oh joy…another chamomile. This blend from Just Add Honey blends together the plain Jane of herbal teas with lemon myrtle, honeybush, citrus peel, lemongrass, licorice root, and stevia leaf.

It sounds like a lot of inclusions, but they all come together to make a pretty pleasant cup of tea. The honeybush and citrus cuts through the usual apple honeyed sweetness of chamomile, and the licorice root gives an interesting aftertaste. I like it!

Episode 178: Fennel Spice

My first foray into Numi Organic Tea’s savory tea line was…not so great. Would their Fennel Spice blend be better? Let’s see, shall we?

The fennel and licorice add a nice sweet/savory note that’s further accented by the celery root and dill. Orange and black pepper are in this as well, although they’re not very strong. Even with that, I’m actually kinda liking this blend!

Episode 219: Honeybush

Out of all the tea types I’ve reviewed on here, I’ve tried honeybush the least. Don’t blame me though! A lot of the vendors I’ve gotten tea from for the show don’t carry it, but I’m glad to try this plain honeybush offering from Numi Organic Tea.

So what does honeybush taste like? Honey, not surprisingly. But there’s also a nice natural caramel sweetness with a bit of a root beer-ish aftertaste. It’s impossible to oversteep, caffeine free, and a great tea hot or iced. Kids love it too!

Episode 259: The Self Care Blend

What do you do for self care? For me, it comes in a lot forms — including having a warm cup of tea! And Plum Deluxe has just the tea for this revolutionary act — The Self Care Blend.

The mix of elderberry, apricot, and honeybush create a creamy and mellow cup of tea. It’s not too tart or too sweet — it kind of just melts into you and soothes you from within. I’m a fan!
