Episode 057: Climber’s High

Surprise — another maté blend! As a non-coffee drinker, maté and black tea are my go-to beverages when I need a buzz. The Tea Spot’s Climber’s High is a great, well-rounded cup of tea that’s great when you need a jolt in the morning or a pick-me-up after lunch.

It’s a yerba maté blend with chai spices, so it’s a light in body but heavy on flavor. There’s also tulsi rama, green tea, white tea, and pu’erh in this blend. It’s kind of a Whitman’s Sampler of tea in one cup!

Episode 265: Frankie Says Relax

Zoomdweebie’s Frankie Says Relax is an eclectic mix of tulsi rama, honeybush, and lemon myrtle. Just going off the ingredients, I’m guessing this is a nice relaxing and calming tea (mainly because of that tulsi rama). Let’s give it a brew!

The taste is slightly medicinal and bordering on savory. That’s mostly the tulsi rama, but the honeybush and lemon myrtle do a great job of mitigating that taste enough to make it tolerable. I think it’s better as an iced tea, but your mileage may vary. Relax!

Episode 279: Honest Tea Heavenly Lemon Tulsi Herbal Tea

I’m on the last of my bottled teas from Honest Tea! The final tea is this Heavenly Lemon Tulsi Rama Herbal Tea. I’ve tried tulsi rama on the show before, so I’m not foreign to it. Let’s see how Honest Tea’s take on it tastes!

I’m a fan! You do get that distinct basil flavor of the tulsi rama, but the lemon inclusions give a nice counterbalance to that sharp, savory coolness of the tulsi rama. I’d wager it doesn’t even need to be sweetened, but the little bit of sugar in here does help tie all the flavors together. Nice!
