Episode 187: Raspberry Zabaglione

Design A Tea is pretty unique among tea vendors because you can create your own tea blends! You might remember the vanilla ginger tea I had from them a while ago. With that sample, I made a few other custom blends. Today, I’m trying the first one — raspberry zabaglione.

This is a really nice dessert-type tea! The raspberry flavor is definitely present throughout the cup, and there is a light, sweet aftertaste of custard. It’s good hot, but it really shines when it gets to around 140° or so. Warm, but not too hot. Delizioso!

Episode 238: Raspberry Zinger

Looks like I’ve reached the last tea in my Celestial Seasonings sample pack — Raspberry Zinger. This herbal tea is a lively blend of hibiscus, rosehips, chicory, and of course raspberries. Let’s give it a try!

I’m not really getting any “zing” from this blend — if anything, it tastes like Tropical Punch Kool-Aid! It’s a very juicy and flavorful tea — don’t get me wrong. But the tartness of raspberries is faint. This is really just some hibiscus and rosehips tea with a splash of raspberry. It is great as an iced tea, so maybe try it that way instead.

Episode 281: Raspberry Birthday Cake

I’ve never been much of a fan of cake, but I like cake-flavored tea. Weird? A little, I’m sure. In any regard, I went into trying Zoomdweebie’s Raspberry Birthday cake with trepidation. The other raspberry-flavored teas I’ve had on the show haven’t been spectacular. Will this blend join the pack?

Actually…no! It’s a perfectly good raspberry tea, although it is a bit sour and tangy in the aftertaste. What I’m disappointed in is that there’s no cake flavor! That’s a real bummer.

Episode 361: Honey Citrus Raspberry

I’ve spoken before on how raspberry can be a hard flavor to place with tea. M&K’s Tea Company’s Honey Citrus Raspberry blends raspberry leaf with hibiscus, green tea, honey, and a melange of citrus flavors.

I love how this all comes together to create a well-balanced cup! I get nice top notes of honey, a little zing from the citrus, and you can actually taste the green tea (which I was worried about with all these flavors). Not too shabby!
