Episode 057: Climber’s High

Surprise — another maté blend! As a non-coffee drinker, maté and black tea are my go-to beverages when I need a buzz. The Tea Spot’s Climber’s High is a great, well-rounded cup of tea that’s great when you need a jolt in the morning or a pick-me-up after lunch.

It’s a yerba maté blend with chai spices, so it’s a light in body but heavy on flavor. There’s also tulsi rama, green tea, white tea, and pu’erh in this blend. It’s kind of a Whitman’s Sampler of tea in one cup!

Episode 090: Candy Cane Iced Tea

Mmm…another great iced tea from Zoomdweebie’s Southern Boy Iced Teas line. This is from their “12 Iced Teas of Christmas” line from last year — Candy Cane.

This is not your ordinary mint iced tea! Brisk peppermint and a hint of vanilla take this iced tea to a whole other level. I’m pretty sure I drank this all in record time. The mint flavor is there, but not strong at all — it’s very well-balanced. Add this one to your summer iced tea menu!

Episode 197: Sweet Dreams

Bigelow has been hit or miss for me in terms of flavor, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this herbal tea blend. I’m guessing the chamomile, known for its calming qualities, contributes to the “Dreams” part of Bigelow Tea’s Sweet Dreams. The rest of the ingredients are all over the place: peppermint, spearmint, hibiscus, orange, and rose.

Even with this motley mix of ingredients, the blend is not half bad! I think the mint and the chamomile cancel each other out (one relaxes you, the other stimulates you), but the resulting brew is a fruity, minty blend with a bit of natural sweetness. And hey — there’s the “Sweet” part of this tea’s name!

Episode 216: Cha Cha

Today in “Teas Named After Famous Dances”, we have Adagio Teas’ Cha Cha — a mix of chamomile, peppermint, and lemongrass. I’ve reviewed each of this blend’s components separately, so let’s see if they come together in terms of flavor.

They do! Taste-wise, this reminds me a lot of Celestial Seasonings’ Sleepytime blend. It’s a nice enjoyable cup of tea! Cha-cha on over to Adagio Teas and pick some up!
