Episode 153: Country Peach Passion

Of all the big box supermarket brand teas out there, I can’t believe I haven’t stumbled across a Celestial Seasonings tea yet. Well, time to fix that! Today, I’m trying Country Peach Passion from their herbal tea line.

I will say this — they really nailed that fresh peach taste in this blend, including the tartness from a slightly unripe peach. There is a bit of a sour, soapy aftertaste, but I found that it’s lessened a lot when you drink it iced rather than hot. You can probably find this in most grocery stores, so give it a try and let me know what you think!

Episode 169: Turmeric Ginger Tea

If you like nice spicy teas that warm you up and sooth you from the inside, you’ll dig this turmeric ginger tea from SenseofJoyNBeauty. There’s all organic ingredients here — lemongrass, orange peel, lemon oil, and ginger and turmeric (of course).

This tea is for all you ginger fans out there, because this blend has it in spades. There’s lots of intense ginger flavor in each sip, and the turmeric acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. Overall, it’s a really tasty, zesty blend and I can’t wait to get my hands on some more of it. Yum!

Episode 175: Pomegranate Pizzazz

Bigelow! At long last, we meet again. This time, it’s Pomegranate Pizzazz, one of five teas in a recent sampler I picked up from Amazon.

This herbal tea packs a lot of ingredients, but the one flavor that stands out the most isn’t the one this blend is named after! Note for note, this reminds me of Tazo Passion, and there’s only a faint whisper of pomegranate as an after taste. It’s not a bad tea; it’s just not the flavor it says it is. Maybe they should rename it “Hibiscus Hooray”.

Episode 178: Fennel Spice

My first foray into Numi Organic Tea’s savory tea line was…not so great. Would their Fennel Spice blend be better? Let’s see, shall we?

The fennel and licorice add a nice sweet/savory note that’s further accented by the celery root and dill. Orange and black pepper are in this as well, although they’re not very strong. Even with that, I’m actually kinda liking this blend!

Episode 183: Wild Berry Zinger

I’ll level with you — I’m getting a little tired of the overabundance of hibiscus in herbal teas. Specifically, I’m tired of the overabundance of hibiscus in this herbal tea — Celestial Seasonings’ Wild Berry Zinger.

Aside from the hibiscus flavor, the only thing that stands out is the sour, tangy orange aftertaste when hot. It really doesn’t taste too far off from Pomegranate Pizzazz. Or Tazo Passion. I will say this — it makes for a pretty tasty iced tea. So if you do pick this up, iced is the way to go.
