Genmaicha (also known as brown rice tea, tea of Genmai, popcorn tea, or the people’s tea) has an interesting history. Typically, genmaicha consists of bancha and roasted brown rice. Sometimes these grains pop, and the result looks like popcorn. The resulting brew is a nutty and smooth cup of tea that’s great all year long.
This blend includes mini marshmallows, which are a really nice complement to the genmaicha. It really does taste like a marshmallow treat! (Hey, that cereal company ain’t paying me for free promo.)
