Episode 022: Kitchen Sink Tea

I was very intrigued by this green tea blend from Zoomdweebie’s. The base is green tea (banchan, I think), and there is a huge medley of over 20 flavors added. Since each blend has different quantities of flavors, each cup tastes different.

It’s a fairly good green tea, but the fruity flavors are the star here. Try it iced and you’ll really taste the depth and nuance of flavor. It’s a lot going on, but it actually works!

Episode 040: Tequila Lime

Tea that tastes like a margarita? Count me in!

Zoomdweebie’s has an interesting blend here — young Hyson green tea (which has its own storied history), marigold petals, and the essence of lime.

I found it more lime-y than tequila-y, but I would imagine this could make a good mixer if iced. Hyson is usually served with citrus, so add a twist of lime to punch up the flavor. Zing!

Episode 117: Strawberry Lemonade

Teavana…you befuddle me sometimes. This strawberry lemonade blend, while tasty, also seems wholly unnecessary. Strawberry lemonade ain’t rocket science — strawberries plus lemons plus water plus sweetener. BAM! Done. No artificial flavors either.

So what makes this blend so special? Maybe it’s the addition of rosehips and lime. Maybe it’s the sunflower petals. Who knows? But I figure if you’ve got access to buy this at $7/2 oz., you can just go to the grocery store and pick up the actual ingredients. Your mileage may vary.

Episode 147: Rainbow Sherbet Iced Tea

I’m back on the iced tea wagon, and this time it’s Zoomdweebie’s Rainbow Sherbet Iced Tea. This blend of black teas contains lime, orange, and raspberry flavors with a little something extra to give it that sherbet taste.

It’s somewhere in the middle of the road for me. It’s certainly a nice and fruity tea, but whatever’s added to give that sherbet taste is a bit chalky. It’s not a bad tea, but if you’ve got access to real rainbow sherbet, I’d go for that instead.

Episode 194: Dry Desert Lime

Numi Organic Tea’s Dry Desert Lime does not look appetizing at all. Old dried limes, a paper sack brown pack…it’s almost like they don’t want you to drink it. But we can’t judge a book by its cover. (Or in this case, a tea by its packaging.)

If you’re a fan of limes, I think you’ll be in for a treat! There is a lot of sour lime flavor in here with some hints of lemon and orange. It would be a great tea to drink if you’re sick, but it would also be fantastic iced and maybe mixed with some sencha for sweetness. I’m glad I gave this a try!
