Episode 092: Pina Colada Iced Tea

The iced tea drinking continues! This time, it’s Zoomdweebie’s Pina Colada iced tea. They actually have two versions of this tea — if you recall, I’ve tried the honeybush version.

I’m totally a fan of this black tea version! The quality of the black tea really brings out the rich caramel undertones of rum flavoring that are in this blend. Together with the pineapple and coconut, this iced tea takes me straight to the tropics. I can’t stop drinking this. Mmmm!

Episode 100: Luzianne Iced Tea

Episode 100 is dedicated to the iced tea brand I grew up drinking — Luzianne. It’s “specially blended for iced tea” with a mix of orange pekoe and pekoe cut black teas.

Because the blend is more for iced tea, that’s how I prefer to drink it. (I think we all know regular supermarket black tea can be kind of lackluster.) As an iced tea, Luzianne has a hint of bitterness with an overall sweet and mellow finish. It’s perfect by itself, with a slice of lemon, or even with a splash of bourbon. You really can’t go wrong with this tea.

Episode 122: Watermelon

Watermelon always reminds me of summers spent at my grandparents. My granddaddy would come home from his job at the candy factory and bring a big honkin’ watermelon for me and my brother to cut up and eat slices of while we watched cartoons.

Granted, Zoomdweebie’s watermelon flavored iced tea isn’t a substitute for the real thing, but it’s a good marriage between my two summertime loves. I think I’ll pour up a glass right now and watch some Tom and Jerry. Just like the old days.

Episode 143: Butterbeer Iced Tea

I had no idea what “butterbeer” was prior to trying this tea. I mean, I’ve heard of putting butter in coffee and butter in tea, but butter in beer? Turns out this is a drink in the Harry Potter series, which means I’ve lost about a million geek points for not catching the reference.

Nerdery aside, I really enjoyed this tea blend! I’m picking up a bit of butteriness (butterscotch, perhaps?), along with some root beer, chicory, and licorice flavors. In that regard, it’s a bit similar to Southern Boy Iced Teas’ root beer float iced tea, but without vanilla. It’s nice and smooth and perfect for the summer. Try it today!

Episode 151: Wildberries Iced Tea

Zoomdweebie’s Wildberries Iced Tea has a lot of berry flavor — blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, and more. I haven’t had an iced green tea since Austin, so this was a really refreshing change of pace.

Even with all the berries in this mix, they blend together pretty nicely! I really like that you can taste the different berries throughout each sip — strawberry and raspberry at the beginning, blackberry, blueberry and the others at the end. I’ve got a link to purchase this at Zoomdweebie’s, but soon you’ll be able to get this from the new Southern Boy Iced Teas website!
