Episode 013: Organic Chocolate/Mint Rooibos Tea Blend

This blend from ESP Emporium is weird. It’s supposed to be a chocolate/mint rooibos blend, but you really don’t taste chocolate or mint in the resulting brew!

Rooibos is the base, which is good for a flavored blend like this. But you really taste the anise more than anything else. The mint that is in this blend is overshadowed completely by this. For some reason, the description on the website says there’s hints of vanilla and coconut. Are we tasting the same tea?

Episode 042: Men’s Activity Tea

ESP Emporium’s Men’s Activity Tea is a familiar blend. It reminds me a lot of Aveda’s Comforting Tea I reviewed last month; super aromatic, sweet, and slightly spicy.

There’s a ton of ingredients in here, and the mix of flavors produces a tangy yet satisfying cup of tea. I’m not sure what makes this a “men’s” tea specifically, but it did give me some get-up-and-go after lunch. Your mileage may vary.

Episode 066: Fasting Tea

Ah, another interesting blend from ESP Emporium — this time, it’s their Ayurvedic Fasting Herb Tea Blend (or Fasting Tea for short). As you can see from the photo here, there’s an eclectic mix of ingredients going on in this blend.

These all blend together to make an oddly tangy cup of tea. Not savory…tangy. It might be the mix of chamomile and black pepper, but there’s an odd taste to this blend. It’s meant to “support you in times of moderation”, but I think I’ll just stick to plain ol’ water.

I will say this — it did make me lose my appetite.

Episode 077: Sweet Orange Maté

ESP Emporium — we have a winner! I’m really really digging this Sweet Orange Maté blend, which is a mix of green and roasted yerba maté. licorice, and orange peels. It sounds like an odd blend, but it really works together well!

The roasted maté and the orange give a nice smoky, citrus-y flavor that is complemented by the licorice to give a bit more depth. I also pick up on a hint of vanilla, which gives the tea a bit of a Creamsicle vibe. I’m a fan!
