I’m a big fan of coconut, so I was very eager to try The Tea Spot’s Coconut Cabana. It’s a pretty simple blend — milk oolong (also known as jin xuan), shaved coconut, and “natural coconut flavoring”.
I don’t know if that flavoring contributed to the powdery residue with this tea, but I feel like it might be what didn’t make this a super great cup right off the bat. Even after rinsing the leaves, there was a chalky aftertaste that lingered after each sip.
It’s not a bad coconut tea, but I prefer Golden Moon Tea’s coconut pouchong.
