The first episode starts with one of my daily teas — Teavana’s Samurai Chai Maté.
With sweet honeybush as the foundation, they’ve layered on freeze-dried peaches and apricots along with cinnamon chips to create a blend that’s just as good to smell as it is to drink. (But you probably just want to drink it.)
52 Teas’ Mayan Chocolate Chai is the perfect mix of chai spices and chocolate. If you like Starbucks’ Chocolate Chai Tea Latte, you’ll love this! It’s a nice, deep, spicy chai blend further punctuated with the addition of cayenne pepper. It’s perfect for cold weather!
This blend from ESP Emporium is weird. It’s supposed to be a chocolate/mint rooibos blend, but you really don’t taste chocolate or mint in the resulting brew!
Rooibos is the base, which is good for a flavored blend like this. But you really taste the anise more than anything else. The mint that is in this blend is overshadowed completely by this. For some reason, the description on the website says there’s hints of vanilla and coconut. Are we tasting the same tea?
Today I’m reviewing another fun blend from Zoomdweebie’s 52 Teas line — chai-napple gunpowder. They’ve mixed traditional gunpowder green tea with chai spaces (cinnamon, ginger, caramon) and freeze dried pineapple.
As a hot tea, this didn’t really float my boat. But once it cooled down to room temperature, those spices really came out and it was quite enjoyable with the sweetness of the pineapple. I can imagine this would be really tasty iced! Give it a try!
