Episode 153: Country Peach Passion

Of all the big box supermarket brand teas out there, I can’t believe I haven’t stumbled across a Celestial Seasonings tea yet. Well, time to fix that! Today, I’m trying Country Peach Passion from their herbal tea line.

I will say this — they really nailed that fresh peach taste in this blend, including the tartness from a slightly unripe peach. There is a bit of a sour, soapy aftertaste, but I found that it’s lessened a lot when you drink it iced rather than hot. You can probably find this in most grocery stores, so give it a try and let me know what you think!

Episode 197: Sweet Dreams

Bigelow has been hit or miss for me in terms of flavor, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this herbal tea blend. I’m guessing the chamomile, known for its calming qualities, contributes to the “Dreams” part of Bigelow Tea’s Sweet Dreams. The rest of the ingredients are all over the place: peppermint, spearmint, hibiscus, orange, and rose.

Even with this motley mix of ingredients, the blend is not half bad! I think the mint and the chamomile cancel each other out (one relaxes you, the other stimulates you), but the resulting brew is a fruity, minty blend with a bit of natural sweetness. And hey — there’s the “Sweet” part of this tea’s name!

Episode 214: Black Cherry Berry

I’m on the hunt now for a really good cherry-flavored tea. The varieties I’ve tried in the past here on the show have been hit or miss (mostly miss), but now we have a new challenger — Celestial Seasonings’ Black Cherry Berry. This herbal blend contains natural black cherry flavor along with hibiscus and rosehips.

Out of the Celestial Seasonings’ offerings I’ve tried so far, this one is probably the best out of the bunch! The hibiscus adds a nice tartness which accents the cherry flavor perfectly. If you like a nice tart tea, try this out!

Episode 216: Cha Cha

Today in “Teas Named After Famous Dances”, we have Adagio Teas’ Cha Cha — a mix of chamomile, peppermint, and lemongrass. I’ve reviewed each of this blend’s components separately, so let’s see if they come together in terms of flavor.

They do! Taste-wise, this reminds me a lot of Celestial Seasonings’ Sleepytime blend. It’s a nice enjoyable cup of tea! Cha-cha on over to Adagio Teas and pick some up!

Episode 224: Pink Rose Lemonade

Jackie and the good folks over at The Tea Spot sent over a great assortment of teas for me to try, and I decided to sample their Pink Rose Lemonade first. It’s a fragrant blend of rose petals, lemongrass, chamomile, spearmint, and lavender, along with some citrus flavors provided by orange peel and lemon balm.

This is a very relaxing and calming tea! The combination of lemongrass and spearmint is fruity and naturally sweet, and the other components round out the rest of the blend pretty nicely. It’s a great tea to have in your collection!
