Episode 021: Blueberry Kona Pop

Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit” came to mind when I chose this tea. This is one of Teavana’s mixed blends (i.e., a blend of two blends), which consists of Blueberry Bliss and Pineapple Kona Pop. Hence the name Blueberry Kona Pop!

The dry leaves are really floral; actually, it kinda smells like Bubbalicious! It was great hot, but it really shines as an iced tea. It would be great as a mixer as well!

Episode 022: Kitchen Sink Tea

I was very intrigued by this green tea blend from Zoomdweebie’s. The base is green tea (banchan, I think), and there is a huge medley of over 20 flavors added. Since each blend has different quantities of flavors, each cup tastes different.

It’s a fairly good green tea, but the fruity flavors are the star here. Try it iced and you’ll really taste the depth and nuance of flavor. It’s a lot going on, but it actually works!

Episode 116: Blueberry Rooibos

The great thing about rooibos is that it takes on a lot of other flavors really well without sacrificing taste. I’ve reviewed a peach rooibos before, so I had a feeling this blueberry rooibos from SenseofJoyNBeauty would be a winner.

And I was right! The dried blueberries make this a juicy and refreshing tea. It’s not too sweet or too heavy — if you’re a blueberry lover, you’ll really enjoy this. Try it iced too!

Episode 144: White Eternal Spring

Today’s tea selection is nice and light — it’s Adagio Teas’ White Eternal Spring. This white tea blend has a lot of flavors competing for attention: apple, blueberry, cranberry, hibiscus, mango, pineapple, and rose hips and rose petals.

Even with all that going on, I found the flavor to be crisp and fruity. The hibiscus and rose give a nice floral juiciness to the blend that complements the white tea without overpowering it. It’s great hot, but I’d suggest trying it iced also. Yum!

Episode 145: Wild Blueberry

I’m not quite sure what to make of Just Add Honey’s Wild Blueberry tea. On first glance, the blend sounds like a winner: green tea, white tea and whole dried blueberries.

The brew, however, is a different story. Don’t get me wrong — the blueberry flavor is there. But the lingering taste after each sip reminded me of mustard. Like, French’s yellow mustard. Your mileage may vary, but I’m not a fan of this blueberry blend.
