Episode 021: Blueberry Kona Pop

Mtume’s “Juicy Fruit” came to mind when I chose this tea. This is one of Teavana’s mixed blends (i.e., a blend of two blends), which consists of Blueberry Bliss and Pineapple Kona Pop. Hence the name Blueberry Kona Pop!

The dry leaves are really floral; actually, it kinda smells like Bubbalicious! It was great hot, but it really shines as an iced tea. It would be great as a mixer as well!

Episode 098: Youthberry/Wild Orange Blossom

Teavana really loves these fruity tea blends, and Youthberry/Wild Orange Blossom is no exception. I’ve reviewed Youthberry before, so I was interested to see what Wild Orange Blossom would bring in terms of a flavor profile (besides orange, duh).

It’s very floral and sweet, and that’s not just because of the addition of rock sugar. I did pick up a bit of a sour, tart aftertaste (maybe from that big hunk of orange slice), but I imagine this would be just as good hot as it would be iced. Give it a try!

Episode 121: Pennyroyal Pink

Pennyroyal Pink sounds like some delightful color you’d use to paint a kid’s bedroom, doesn’t it? Actually, it’s an herbal tea blend from M&K’s Tea Company which includes rose petals, roasted ginger, and beetroot powder.

Overall, I found it to be a very pleasant tea — slightly minty, yet light and a bit savory. But after gathering more information about pennyroyal I decided not to go through with drinking a full cup. I’m including a link where you can purchase this if you’re a bit more daring than I am!

Episode 324: Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait

I’ve gotten your emails, and yes — I know I haven’t reviewed any blends from DAVIDsTea…until now! I picked up a few sample packs recently, and this blend really jumped out at me first — strawberry rhubarb parfait.

For a bagged tea, the amount of rich flavor in here is really surprising! (Maybe that’s because of the yogurt-y bits in here.) Apple, beetroot, carrot, and raisin add both depth and brightness to the strawberry and rhubarb flavor. This would make a fantastic iced tea or a dessert tea. Delicious!
