Episode 022: Kitchen Sink Tea

I was very intrigued by this green tea blend from Zoomdweebie’s. The base is green tea (banchan, I think), and there is a huge medley of over 20 flavors added. Since each blend has different quantities of flavors, each cup tastes different.

It’s a fairly good green tea, but the fruity flavors are the star here. Try it iced and you’ll really taste the depth and nuance of flavor. It’s a lot going on, but it actually works!

Episode 065: Coconut Banana Cream Pie Hojicha

This coconut banana cream pie hojicha from Zoomdweebie’s might be my new favorite dessert tea! Toasty, nutty hojicha is blended with freeze-dried bananas and dried coconut pieces to create a really delicious cup.

This is great as a morning or after-dinner tea because of the low caffeine content. I bet this would be really something iced with a bit of coconut milk. I might have to try it that way next!

Episode 140: Banana Pudding Genmaicha

Oh my…this is another one of those amazing smelling teas. Banana pudding is one of my favorite desserts, so having it in tea form is a win-win for me.

Zoomdweebie’s banana pudding genmaicha blends genmaicha with coconut and freeze dried banana chips to produce a really hearty and wholesome cup of tea. The genmaicha is a nice, starchy base, and the coconut and banana provide a nice sweet contrast. Scoop this one up today before it’s gone!

Episode 154: Caribbean Calypso Maté

Ayyyy mon! I think this may be one of the last Teavana blends in my collection! (I can hear you rejoicing.) This is a really tasty blend I had squirreled away called Caribbean Calypso Maté — a blend of maté, lemongrass, coconut, mango, pineapple, and ginger.

The maté gives a bit of vegetal sweetness that’s accented by the lemongrass, and the coconut and other fruits meld together into a light and flavorful cup of tea. Refreshing and energizing! Teavana doesn’t sell this blend anymore, but the Piña Colada Mango Maté from Totalitea looks like a good substitute.
