I’m no stranger to yerba maté, but I’ve actually never had it just by itself. Usually when I drink it, it’s part of a blend of some sort. Imagine my surprise when walking through my local grocery store’s coffee and tea aisle to find this — yerba maté in teabags! It was a bit more expensive than your regular store-brand tea, but I had to try it.
I like it! This includes the stems and leaves, so you get a bit of citrus sweetness reminiscent of lemongrass or lemon verbena. And because it’s in these nice teabags, you can have maté anywhere or any time you want. Salud!
