I’m kinda surprised how many black teas I run across that end up being from Assam. Case in point — Shasta Loose Leaf Tea’s Borengajuli. There’s a unique process behind this tea that’s worth reading up on that deals with natural cloning. Pretty interesting stuff!
The resulting brew from this tea is a supremely malty blend with an intense prune flavor — almost like jam. If you’re not one for having black teas straight up, a splash of milk or cream will calm that astringency. Overall, this is a seriously good black tea. Give it a try!
